This trio is headed by gina, the singer/ songwriter/ guitarist and plethora of creative resources which drives the band. Gina has received acclaim throughout the Twin Cites over the last couple of years as she found her voice
(and callouses) working the local coffeehouse circuit. In the spring of 1996 she was donned "The Best" at The Fine Line Music Café's open mic competition, earning her a live slot on 93.7 The Edge's local showcase as well as a clearer vision of her dream.
She promptly joined forces with Tim Ost (drums) and Cory Wood (bass), who were at the time actively involved with the now-defunked local groovesters CHUCK. With the demise of CHUCK in the fall of '96
, what had started as a side-project became a matter of the utmost dedication and practice, and the three have truly transformed into a fully-operational musical entity.
The Jacket is finishing work on its debut CD, which is slated for an April '98 release. You can see OJ at any of a number of local clubs with any of a number of exceptionally talented bands. (see Venues)
